The Scent of Lime

By Bruce Clifford

(1/5/02)

The cycle that takes us beyond our imagination
We've borrowed time since the dawn did shine
The chemical that makes us into pure sophistication
Elements are the way to go
I don't know what you know
Images of light still in my head
Have I been fed what's been said

    When you're nervous
    And when you're tired
The scent of lime will clue you in
There will be no big surprise
    When you're flying
    Clear across the mountains
The scent of lime will come to you
Take you to the corner of the ultimate truth

The courage that guides you beyond each situation
Tomorrow is another day if today would go away
The barriers of chaos bring us to a false sense of salvation
Energy is the way to go
Mother never told me so
The start of the circle that spins the wheel
Does anyone care, can anyone feel

    When you're nervous
    And when you're tired
The scent of lime will clue you in
There will be no big surprise
    When you're flying
    Clear across the mountains
The scent of lime will come to you
Take you to the corner of the ultimate truth
