Mother, Can You Hear Me

By Bruce Clifford

Talk about freedom, religion, and God
Count your daily treasures in your winter storm
Animal equations deliver a sign
Mother can you hear me from heaven when I cry

Talk about fears and the smell of the war
Fighting back the tears like we have been here before
The daily bread that feeds us and creates compromise
Mother can you hear me from heaven way up high
Mother can you hear me from heaven when I cry

All these years between us since you have been gone
I've made it so far as I've tried to move on
All the fashion changes have moved on with time
All the different faces and all the different places

Talk about religion, visions of God
Hide in open spaces where we can be one
Count the days when you could see angels in the sky
Mother can you hear me from heaven way up high
Mother can you hear me from heaven when I cry
