Geography

By Bruce Clifford

I can blame this on geography.
Still, I never knew you stayed so close to me.
Although you have been so far away.
With me all our memories remain.
I’m so insecure.
Can’t get up from this floor.

Can’t get up from this floor.
My heart couldn’t take anymore.
I can’t blame this on you.
I can’t blame it on me.
I can once and for all blame this on geography.

Time marches on.
Memories could fade.
Then I stumbled upon thoughts from yesterday.

Lost pictures in my mind.
A relapse of a forgotten piece of time.
All those dreams I could never erase.
They bring me back to this sacred place.
I can’t blame this on you.
I can’t blame it on me.
I can once and for all blame this on geography.
