Sleepy

By Walt Perryman

Three o’clock in the morning and I cannot sleep,
I allowed my worries to replace counting sheep.

My head will not stop thinking and I am tired.
If I had to go to work today, I would get fired.

Being retired allows me to stay awake all night,
But I have no real worries everything is all right.

I know that if I pray, I can get back on track.
So, good night, folks I am hitting the sack!!

If you read this ‘now’ you must be awake too.
But if you want to sleep you know what to do.
