Recipe for Sleep

By Walt Perryman

Last night it rained on my roof made of tin,
My windows were open and the wind blew in.

The lighting and thunder was a big deal,
But for me it was like a good sleeping pill.

I woke up with birds singing and a rooster’s crow.
I guess it can get better, but how I don’t know.
