This Is The World
By
Bruce Clifford
The power shifts from side to side
Universal emotions walk hand in hand with pride
The mimic of the underground causes a hurried decay
This is the world that we're left with today
The emotional twists that shake us about
Incarcerated masters now show signs of doubt
The science and the mayhem leave a tonic of disarray
These are our children that come here to play
Welcome to the world that we're left with today
The chaos of the masses in the age of discontent
Circling the wagon when you're broken and you're spent
The fragile sense of worship in a continuous barrage of dismay
These are our dreams, our hopes, and our prey
This is the world that we're left with today
The power that jolts us out of our sleep
The cascade of promises that runs ocean deep
Mother and father always had something to say
This is the world that we're left with today
