Shattered Dreams

By Bruce Clifford

My mind can't think straight
I know the time is getting late
All these conversations keep playing in my mind
Wish I could find a place for us to hide

Every moment the noise holds me down
There are no secrets in this crazy desperate town
Wish I could show you just what you mean to me
Every moment remembering shattered dreams

Shattered dreams of desperation
Shattered dreams I can't protect
Shattered dreams and inspiration
Shattered dreams of empty souls and neglect

My can't can't think beyond this shattered dream
My heart can't decide what this broken heart could mean
All these years circling under the stars
Every moment trying to remember who we are

Shattered dreams of desperation
Shattered dreams I can't protect
Shattered dreams and inspiration
Shattered dreams of empty souls and neglect

Shattered dreams of emptiness and fear
Shattered dreams of the chill and the void
Shattered dreams that won't disappear
Shattered dreams that were too hard to avoid

My mind can't think straight
I know the time is getting late
All these conversations keep playing in my mind
Wish I could find a place for us to hide
