This Can't Go on Anymore

By Bruce Clifford

I've tried so long to make start
I never knew it was a matter of the heart
I paid my dues for carrying on
Maybe this is why I had to write this song
This feeling's never gone

I've made my bed, but I can't sleep
I don't think I have eaten in a week
I cry at night with my heart wrapped in pain
Maybe I will never see her beautify and her grace
Never again

(Chorus)
Where do we go now
I've been hurt for so long
What can I say now
This can't go on anymore

I've tried so long to heal my heart
I never knew it was tearing you apart
I fought the fight, you fought the war
Nobody told us what we were fighting for
The battles lines were drawn

(Chorus)
Where do we go now
I've been hurt for so long
What can I say now
This can't go on anymore

I touch the sky to clear my mind
I never knew I could do this until I tried
I hold you close in every dream
I never meant to cause you disbelief

(Chorus)
Where do we go now
I've been hurt for so long
What can I say now
This can't go on anymore
