Nothing to Believe in

By Bruce Clifford

I used to be a man who felt no pain
I used to be strong and hung sunshine in the rain
I used to be a man who was understood
I used to have hope as all grown men should

I used to feel love
I used to be strong
I used to believe in miracles
I used to write the songs

Now I'm broken down and torn up inside
Shattered dreams and worlds that collide
I could have been anything I wanted to be
Now everything's changed and there's nothing for me to believe
Nothing to believe in

You took my soul and broke my heart
I should have seen this coming from the very start
I don't have answers and I don't have time
I can't stay here, it's time to say goodbye

I used to feel love
I used to be strong
I used to believe in miracles
I used to write the songs

Now I'm broken down and torn up inside
Shattered dreams and worlds that collide
I could have been anything I wanted to be
Now everything's changed and there's nothing for me to believe
Nothing to believe in
