I Heard

By Mary E. Adair

I heard the voices
Of those passed away
And each only spoke
Of a brighter day..

Of the worries which
Plagued them here on earth
They never mentioned
Devaluing worry's worth

Then slowly I began
To understand more
It was as though
Someone opened a door

The answers are there
For questions uttered
And peace flows into
The belief that fluttered

Soon strength was built
Within my heart
For helping others,
I knew I could start

So daily I listen
And seek God's will
To guide my footsteps
Up over the hill.
