You Never Told Me

By Bruce Clifford

Seeing starlight in my head
Seeing starlight up ahead

You never told me it would be like this
You never said It would be something I would miss
When the time comes for our final kiss
You never told me it would feel like this

The battle scars of ancient wars
Maybe there was a time I could have asked for more
Take me to another place in time
Seeing daylight on the road as we fly by

You never told me it would be like this
You never said it would be something I would miss
When the time comes for our final kiss
You never told me it would feel like this

What are we asking for
If we woke up another day
We should be grateful for
As all of our dreams are melted away

You never told me about all your fears
You never said they have brought you to tears
When the truth is told and daylight reappears
You never told me

You never told me about your broken heart
I never knew it was tearing you apart
When the truth is told it should be from the very start
You never told me

You never told me it would be like this
You never said It would be something I would miss
When the time comes for our final kiss
You never told me it would feel like this
