The night is long
And the words to a song
Can make your heart grow
Anybody knows
They're just words to a song

You can bring hope along
You can make others feel strong
You can chase diamonds in the rain
You can flush lovers down the drain
They're just words to a song

You can dream while awake
You can make your own mistakes
You can summon a point of view
You can take hairs and split them into two
There's not enough room for me and you

You can make all the rights a wrong
You can make others feel as if they belong
You can make dreamers dream of another time
You make circles out of a perfect line
