Awareness
By
Mary E. Adair
Awareness can lift one's spirit to song
Though solemn thoughts may form the staff
Where daily notes are placed all along
And grace notes lilt there with a child's laugh.
Somber measures can keep the beat
And rhythm lead to minor keys
But singing the tune that moves your feet
Will brighten days such as these.
Base notes lie under the melody so light
And remind us to not only hum
But to sing the words exactly right
Waiting for the director to come.
But once aware, we'll all shape up
A symphony might even evolve
For music will never drain the cup
And life's mysteries we shall solve.
