Could It Be

By Bruce Clifford

Life seems like it should be easy
Why is life so hard on so many
Spending time thinking of fire
But the ocean breathes with desire

Taking away the thoughts of the many
Some say being done is a good thing
Getting there will cost you your treasure
If you cry you will never see what's on that string

Could it be love
Could it be hate
Could it be the consequences of diamonds and fate

Could it be hope
Could it be pain
Could it be all we ever do is complain and complain and complain

Facing each day for the moment
In the end do we ever have a say
Reaching up into the endless forever's
All your dreams, you let them get away

Could it be love
Could it be hate
Could it be the consequences of diamonds and fate

Could it be trust
Could it be fear
Could it be the fighting and the voices whispering into my ear

Could it be hard
Could it be right
Could it be the primordial visions of new love in flight

Could it be free
Could it be truth
Could it be the psychedelic emotions running inside of you

Life seems like it should be easy
Why is life so hard on so many
Spending time thinking of fire
But the ocean breathes with desire
