Moon Tree

By Bruce Clifford

Moon tree
Enlighten me
Drops of rain
What could be

Moon tree
The fertile sun
Voids in time
It's just begun
It's just begun

So turn off your silent motor
Shut this baby down
Hold on for a four leaf clover
And turn your entire world upside down

Moon tree
Ancient earth
Mist and dew
The cosmic birth

Moon tree
Pearls and sand
Feel the art
Take it by the hand

So turn off your quiet engine
Hesitate and leave the ground
The whole universe is listening
Turn your world upside down
Upside down

There was once a time when we could see
There was once a place for us to be
Oh what has become of our ancient moon tree
Of you and me

Moon tree
Enlighten me
Drops of rain
What could be

Moon tree
The fertile sun
Voids in time
It's just begun
It's just begun

Comment: Bruce: I think you've really found your voice with this one! What a delightful piece of writing. Lyrical, mystical and rythmic - what more could one ask for?
