Tell Me

By Bruce Clifford

You've got to be kidding me
You must be mad
Taking this all on the chin
The dreams that we had
The diamonds and plaid

You've got to be deceiving me
There's no other way in
Each cycle turns you inside out
Every lover you try to win
You get caught up with sin
No one knows where to begin

Tell me is there no easy way out
Tell me what these limits are all about
Tell me before you put your back up against the wall
Tell me how far you have to climb before you fall
You're going to wish for it all

Have you heard the silence and the rain
Through these years gone twisting with the casualty of vain
Limit your potential beneath the corner of the sign
Help the memories pass along with the time

You've got to be kidding me
You must be sad
Taking it all for nothing
Is it really so bad
The dreams lovers you once had

Tell me is there no easy way out
Tell me what these limits are all about
Tell me before you put your back up against the wall
Tell me how far you have to climb before you fall
You're going to wish for it all
