You're Breaking My Heart

By Bruce Clifford

You're breaking my heart without even trying
It's not like you're out there cheating and lying
You're so far away and I should know my place
For some odd reason I wish I could see your face

You're twisting me around without signals and ease
It's not like you kissed me and then hid behind trees
You're ever so close yet so far away
You're breaking my heart, the one you never betrayed

So many things are hard to say
When I'm sitting here with you so far away

You're breaking my heart without even trying
It's not like you held me or kept me from dying
You're not even close to where love should be
For some odd reason I wish you could see the real me

You're leaving me in the dust without a thought or a care
It's not like you're trying or not being fair
You're smile and your eyes give it all away
You're breaking my heart just by being that way

You're breaking my heart without even trying
It's not like you're out there cheating and lying
You're so far away and I should know my place
For some odd reason I wish I could see your face
