Never Want to Let Me Go

By Bruce Clifford

You took away the answers before the coast was clear
You followed in the footsteps of the one you held so dear
Waiting for the moment to come straight over you
Holding on forever because you haven't got a clue

You walked until tomorrow within the dust and time
You headed towards the silhouette of the shadows in the line
Spending your first season in the caves of false decay
Lifting up your feather within the mist of Baltic spray
You never knew what to say

I can see it your eyes
I can see it in your soul
Tell me in one quiet glance
You will never want to let me go
Never want to let me go

You took away tomorrow before the night had slipped
You separated moonlight and the stars began to shift
Waiting for that glowing sky to gather up the dust
Sending off the frozen yards of chemicals and dust

I can see it your eyes
I can see it in your soul
Tell me in one quiet glance
You will never want to let me go
Never want to let me go

Never want to let me go
Never want to let me go

You took away the answers
You took away the pain
You created instant latitude
In the shadows of wind and rain
