Waiting Here So Long

By Bruce Clifford

I've been waiting here so long
Waiting to hear this song
Making up the time
Watching this moving sky
A girl soon caught my eye

I've been hollowed by the breeze
It cut me off at my knees
The fire and the after shock
I know I gave it all I got

I've been gathering the moon
The scent of her perfume
The eternal stock of light
I know I can get this right

Waiting here so long
Hoping she'd come along
The diamonds in the sky
I knew we had to try
Until the day I die
