Just Tell Me Why

By Bruce Clifford

Out the back door
Clouds can't get tainted anymore
They try to hide their faces
They hide away in different places
What else can they do
What else can we do
What else can I do

Across the street
Where the traffic and the vampires meet
Laughing out loud is a sign of the times
They get so deep into their nursery rhymes
What else can we do
Look what we are all going through

I have seen the guilty and faced the innocent
My body gets cold and wants to shut down
I have been though the motions and fell from the sky
Somebody tell me, just please tell me why

Out the back door
One vision to explore
They try to find a way
They come back here everyday
What else can one man say
We have got to find the way

I have walked with the guilty and juggled with innocence
The cosmic sign of reality of my last day on earth
I have been though the motions and fell from the sky
Somebody tell me, just please tell me why

Just tell me why
Please tell me why
Does everyone die
Or is it a lie
Just tell me why
