Never Be a Lie

By Bruce Clifford

If I was a man who could sit silently
Then I would be a man who doesn't care what would be
The waves came crashing in as the memory arrived
The point of no return could never be a lie
Never be a lie

Look at our wins and failures riding in a storm
Put it down on paper and burn it as if you were scorned
Pointing out the obvious as the ocean dawns a red tide
Killing all its species would never be a lie
Never be a lie

I don't know why you look at me the way you do
I can't decide what we're supposed to do

If I were a man who could let this insanity go
Then I would be someone you would never want to know
The waves came crashing in as the memory arrived
The point of no return could never be a lie
Never be a lie
