I Don't Think

By Bruce Clifford

I don't think my mind could take much more
I don't think my heart could take it if you walked out that door
I don't think I could forget you when it rains
I don't think and I don't pretend to be sane

I don't run and I don't intend to hide
I don't reason and I don't pretend everything's alright
I don't sit down when a lady needs the chair
I don't think and some say I don't care

If you look at me there has to be someone inside
There has to be someone you still like
If you look at me you have to see a heart inside
There has to be a soul inside
There has to be something left inside

I don't think my heart could take much more
I don't think this world was ever pure
I don't think I could let you fall down and remain
I don't think you ever listened to me when I complained

I don't run and I don't intend to hide
I don't reason and I don't pretend everything's alright
I don't sit down when a lady needs the chair
I don't think and some say I don't care
