The Other Side

By Bruce Clifford

(10/03/02)

Drowning in the real of my emotions
Never knowing if I will sink or swim
Captured by the depth of the ocean
Waiting for a whirlpool to take me in

Swimming in the chaos of imagination
Bouncing up and down like a rubber ball
Toying with the idea of each sensation
Never knowing if I will stand or fall

I look back to a time when life was so easy
I think about the past from time to time
I can't escape the fear I had all those years ago
Memories that I always try to hide
Memories that live on the other side

Sinking in the hole of inspiration
I raise a flag that no one seems to see
Holding on for a link of desperation
Take me in if you can never let me be

Drowning in the real of my emotions
Never knowing if I will sink or swim
Captured by the depth of the ocean
Waiting for a whirlpool to take me in
