Safe With You

By Keith Vander Wees

Same heart,

our words have deepest meaning.

Inscribed in silver were our names,

ebony to light,

ivory to dark.

The castles we loved,

we were the Gods of our destiny.

Never really lost,

safe, from all harm,

throughout eternity we searched

for each other and wondered.

Beckoning the stars

to divulge their secrets.

Now,

savoring your smile

and listening to you breathe.

Forever will I love,

Forever will we be.

We are at last,

Forever. . .
