Heaven Help Us

By Bruce Clifford

(9/15/01)

Have you heard the city is on fire
The lines are drawn on this emotional wire
Fire and pain from out of the sky
The heroes among us know it's time to die
Heaven help us if we could understand why

Have you heard the buildings are falling
Many are lost as their souls remain calling
Lies and hate are told in a far away land
Mother Earth could change us if we would hold out our hand
Heaven help us to understand

Heaven help us
Heaven help us
You just have to believe hope

Heaven help us
Heaven help us
You just have to believe
You just have to believe

Have you heard the lost voices crying
In one second of life they were so quickly dying
From the wreckage we will build a new symbol to the sky
The heroes among us knew it was time to die
Heaven help us, make us feel safe to fly

Heaven help us
Heaven help us
You just have to believe hope

Heaven help us
Heaven help us
You just have to believe
You just have to believe

Have you heard the city is on fire
The lines are drawn on this emotional wire
Fire and pain from out of the sky
The heroes among us know it's time to die
Heaven help us if we could understand why
