On the Outside

By Bruce Clifford

Iíve never felt like I quite fit in.
Iím on the outside.
On the outside.

You let me go then you came back in.
Iím on the outside.
On the outside,

It hurts too much,
Itís hurt for so many years.
The pain never went away.
With me you have always remained.

Iíve never quite liked myself.
Iím on the outside.
On the outside.

Iíd rather pretend to be somebody else.
Iím on the outside.
On the outside.

It hurts too much.
Youíve been gone for so long.
Never an explanation.
Iíve never since felt like I belonged.

Why did you leave me.
Where did you go.
I have always wanted to know.
