I Saved Your Picture
By
Bruce Clifford
I saved your picture for many years
Now it’s gone, but it forever remains with me
I can see it now
I can see it now
I had to set it free
It’s no longer with me
I can still see it now
I can smell your scent somehow
But, I had to set it free
Now all of sudden you’re back on my mind
An accidental surprise
An accidental sunrise
Belson, I’ve wondered what had become of you
Belson, we taught each other a language nobody knew
Only me and you
I saved your picture
Now he has your eyes
I saved your picture
A familiar sunrise
I saved your picture
Now she has your hair
A striking resemblance
I would know anywhere
I can still see it now
I had to set it free
It stayed with me somehow
In you, I believe
