Distant Thunder

By John I. Blair

Distant thunder
Rumbles in the twilight.

I shelter in my car
While rain falls.

Trees around me
Sway in gusty winds.

Night draws near,
Darkness.

All the stout houses
And cocooning steel
Cannot hide me long.

2018 John I. Blair, 8/18/2018
