I Bless The Sight

By John I. Blair

I bless the sight
Of bees, birds, squirrels
Bustling through their
Brief and busy lives

Without a thought of death
Among them,
Intent upon the day, the hour,
The moment they are in.

They’re a paradigm
Of mindfulness
With no breath wasted
Fretting for the future.
