Hawk Day

By John I. Blair

On this
Crystal-clear
November afternoon
I see hawk after hawk
Soar in the sky.

Each one seeks
A life to take
That gives life
In our world’s
Age-old scheme.

Each one radiates
Beauty and grace
That might seem
Anomalies
But aren’t.
