How Many
By
John I. Blair
How many are there like me
Who spend lives in sadness?
Who see past the hollow artifice
Of daily doings
To the empty end?
I cannot look to friends
For more than sympathy,
Though that is much.
I know that some of them
Are where I am, and weep.
I weep for them.
