Love Spoken Here

By John I. Blair

If I chose a word
Closest to my heart
I know that “love”
Would top the list.

“Love spoken here”
Is the message I display
In a plaque upon my wall;
I made it
With my granddaughters beside me.

The word is overused, misused, tired
Of being used, and yet
Cannot be replaced.

What all religions teach
And we too seldom do.
