The Age Of Loneliness

By John I. Blair

The age of loneliness
Has come to pass –
Arrived too soon for me.

How soon would I really want
To talk just to myself
And to the cats?

I think of something witty,
Something wise;
And no one’s here to be impressed

Or laugh.
