Summer Has Come

By Bruce Clifford

Summer has come
Like it’s never been
The heat and the sun
The storms and the wind

Night turns to day
Day turns to night
Summer has come
Nothing seems right

I told her last time go far away
She told me next time to do the same

Summer has come
It’s hard to know why
The warmth of the sun
The birds in the sky

Voices that fade
Songs on the sea
What has begun
Could never be

I told her last time go far away
She told me next time to do the same

Summer has come
As it always will
Until the day
When everything’s still
