The Only Thing
By
Bruce Clifford
I feel like I’m crossing paths with you
As if we were in many ways out of tune
We wandered off to the view
Feeling blue
I feel like I’m flying inside the cloud
As if we could hardly make any sounds
We scattered a dust cloud in the air
We didn’t care
These things happen from time to time
It doesn’t matter if I’m dead or alive
The only thing I’ve been missing is gathered in the wave
All of those promises were made
I feel like I’m hearing a Calypso serenade
As if we are the only ones who had it made
We climbed a hilltop towards the slide
Day and night we cried
These things happen from time to time
It doesn’t matter if I’m dead or alive
The only thing I’ve been missing is gathered in the wave
All of those promises were made
The only thing I’ve been missing is right there to be saved
All of those memories could never fade
