Dreams of You

By John I. Blair

(to Clara)

After almost a year
You still appear in my dreams;
May that last until I die.

It proves to me
That you existed,
That you persist.

Some think our souls
Consist of what occurs
Within our brains.

If that’s so
Then what are memories?
Are they no less real?

So if you care to steal
Into my dreams again tonight
I’ll be there with open arms.
