It's Hard To Say

By Bruce Clifford

to me
It's hard to say
If things are going my way
Trying to escape
Got to find a break

The days of the war
To even the score
Trying to think
Landed on the brink

Quiet disaster what do you think of me
I found your sorrow at the root of the tree
A page discontent with burnt pages on the floor
I can't talk this verbal abuse no more

It's hard to say
When things get in the way
Was this all for nothing
Are the battle lines now drawn

The passing of tears
All of these years
Trying to believe
Wanting to breathe

Quiet disaster what do you think of me
I found your sorrow at the root of the tree
A page discontent with burnt pages on the floor
I can't talk this verbal abuse no more

I keep looking for that quiet in the storm
I keep holding out for all these feelings since I was born

It's hard to say
If things are going my way
Trying to escape
Got to find a break
