Much To My Surprise
By
John I. Blair
Much to my surprise
I find life inside this aging brain
Not at all what I’d expected.
In my juicy, eager youth
I pursued the truth,
Preferred it plain.
Now I’d gladly settle
For a fair approximation,
A surmise.
I thought wisdom came with years,
Not just doubts, fears,
Pain, tears.
