Climb A Tree

By Lseeker

You know..
It's been a long time since I climbed a tree.
And swung from its branches in glee.
Faded memories of my childhood come rejoicing back,
In a moment of emotional attack.
I'm spun and done,
Lost in the leaves and sweet sap.
Perhaps I could put out a wicker and take a short nap.
While the sun bakes,
As the tree shades.
And the birds delight my ears,
As I dream of dancing in fields.
It's not a far reach to imagine,
To believe,
And watch the sky and its sea of clouds.
I'm not so damned, because I'm here.
In my mind, oh, so real.
Come with me for a moment,
Put aside your element.
Watch the clouds and sky,
And forget all our own pain filled lies.
Until the stars haunt the skies blue to dark radiance.
Come and join me, hopping your crippled fence.
It's not so far,
Not so hard,
Not so unbelievable,
But rather truly real.
Because we dream it
In our hearts.
