Sue

By John I. Blair

It’s many years
Since you threw off
Malaysian ways,

Believing firmly
Women, too, were fit
For men’s work.

And work you do!
Listening close
To pain-filled patients,

Advising them on how
To soothe their agony,
Rebuild their lives.

You’re short,
But none look down;
Instead they view your life.

And per that rule,
The only rule that counts,
You stand a giant.
