Hey, It’s Still Me!

By John I. Blair

Hey, it’s still me!

Despite the wrinkles,

Bleary eyesight,

Faulty hearing, less

Than perfect recall,

I’m still here!

Gray hair, mottled skin,

Absent stares, tears

That leave me silent

Minutes at a time . . .

This boy remains.

All I ever was.

And more; the problem

Lies in finding me

Beneath debris.
