She's Going Away

By Bruce Clifford

She could leave me at any time
She could put on her shoes and leave the past behind
And if she hurried out the door
Would she turn around and come back for more

She could turn and walk away
That could mean I would never see her again
And if she drove out in the night
Would I ever get the chance to make things right
Would I ever get the chance to make things right

She's going away
She's going away
She's going away
She's going
She's going
She's going away

Seems like not too long ago
When you counted on me and would have never let me go
Seems like the tide has changed
Now you look at me as if I'm lost and strange
Now you act as if I locked you in a cage

She could have left at any time
She could have gone off with and new a nicer guy
And if she wanted to find a way
Would she take me back or let it slip away
Would she take me back or let it go away

She's going away
She's going away
She's going away
She's going
She's going
She's going away

If you look back into time
When you knew my heart was right
When you felt the earth and sun
When you counted on me for fun
If you look back into time
Not so long ago
Not so long ago

She's going away
She's going away
She's going
She's going
She's going away
