Cast Away Your Sin

By Bruce Clifford

You're too wired and strung out on the string
Treated like a rock star and all the fame it could bring
You're past is here to haunt your troubled spirit and desperate mind
Today could be the day where you would be better off alive

They forgot you in the city when your accent wasn't right
They left you high and dry when your hair was colored too bright
They wanted you to leave your friends and let new baggage in
They told you to turn it down a notch and
cast away your sin
Cast away your sin
Cast away your sin

Now it's too late for anyone to notice
The radio never plays that song
Your fifteen minutes have long been up
Now you're coming to me so I could help you along
I forgot the words to your song

You're over the edge and past the panic switch
All your former fans call you a shallow bitch
Now the papers and the wave are like a psychedelic itch
There's no medication to cure your twitch

They forgot you in the city when your accent wasn't right
They left you high and dry when your hair was colored too bright
They wanted you to leave your friends and let new baggage in
They told you to turn it down a notch and
cast away your sin
Cast away your sin
Cast away your sin
