Through The Pain

By Bud Lemire

So much of yourself you give
Through the pain that you live
You say you will adjust
Never causing a fuss

You help others with your pain
It helps you to remain sane
Knowing it'll help someone survive...
...the pain you feel while you're alive

The knowledge is what you share
So others will learn and be aware
Hoping they'll find a cure for this disease
To calm the hurting, like a gentle breeze

Some nights you're wide awake
Sometimes fear, sometimes medicines you take
Other times when you dream
You wake up with a scream

When will your suffering end
My dear and gentle friend
She just smiles and says, "it'll be okay"
But I know she has much more she wants to say

Is there any way, I can ease the pain you feel
Stop the hurting, and help you to heal
No one should have to go through what you do
What you need is a miracle from out of the blue
