Could Have Been

By Bruce Clifford

It could have been you
It could have been me
It could have been God
Inside of me

It could have been certain
It could have been fate
It could have been a token
To eliminate

What's a man to do
When the world makes no sense anymore
What on this earth can we do
When could we ever be sure

It could have been lost
It could have been found
It could have been a rainbow
Upside down

It could have been a hit
It could have been night
It could have been thirst
Ready to fight

When you're lost in the night
Star in a parade
Circle the globe
And choices you made

Whisper to me
Oh, The way that you do
Never can you count on
Voices sound so true

It could have been you
It could have been me
It could have been
In what there is to be
