Doors

By John I. Blair

Once we gained the power of doors,
To open or to shut them,
Unlock or lock,
We took a ruthless step
Along the wisdom road.

Behind forbidden doors
Hide all the secrets, mysteries,
Evasions, lies, truths
That got us barred from Eden
With a flaming sword.
