You Don't Exist in my Life
By
Bruce Clifford
I never thought about writing a song for you
You don't push my buttons like others have tried to do
You don't bring out the best or worst in me
I never think of you at night when I dream
You never make me want to yell and scream
You're never too nice and never too cruel or mean
I never think about you in the past or present tense
You don't come to mind when I'm playing self-defense
You don't set me off or push me to extremes
I never hear from you when I'm suffering
You never break my heart and turn life upside down
I never call your name, you never come around
You don't exist in my life
Maybe god never had a plan for you and me
You don't exist in my life
If you're out there I never got to know you
I never thought about taking you out on the town
We never talked about the books we read or if you like pink or brown
I don't know if you would be the best or worst side of me
If I looked into your eyes would I smile or scream
Are you out there hiding behind some mystic light
Do you stay out in the fringes watching me every night
You don't exist in my life
Maybe god never had a plan for you and me
You don't exist in my life
If you're out there I never got to know you
I never got to know you
We never had a chance
I never got to know you
We never had our dance
You don't exist in my life
Maybe god never had a plan for you and me
You don't exist in my life
If you're out there I never got to know you
I never thought about writing a song for you
I never seen you or had the courage to
You don't bring out the best or worst in me
You never said if you thought this was meant to be
