The Wave

By John I. Blair

When I'm feeling futile,
In despair
That nothing I can do will matter,
I remember reading
That in an ocean wave
Each drop of water
Just travels in a circle
And does not move far
From its place;
Yet waves, with time,
Wear continents away.
