Scato-Logical

By John I. Blair

I have three cats of a certain age
Who share a single cat pan.
Inevitably, every day or so,
One of them gets caught short
While the pan is ocupado;
And, sitting on the oriental rug
That decorates the space
Just outside the kitty toilet,
Finds she cannot wait.

None will admit to me
When this has happened,
So I find out by stepping in it
In the darkened room.
At such times my vocabulary
Veers toward the earthy end
Of the Anglo-Saxon spectrum.
But my diction is appropriate;
You might say it's sCATo-logical.
