Happy Birthday America! On July 4th, 2003 you will be 227 years old, yet a mere baby when compared other nations of the world. However your youth and vitality has made you one of the richest and most powerful nations in the known history of the world.
Oh you’ve made mistakes along the way, tripping over your own shoelaces, even stumbled a time or two. The principles you were founded on picked you back up and still inspire your people and others around the globe. You have grown and learned from your troubled past, and while the road ahead is sure to be fraught with more obstacles and mistakes to make, even past mistakes revisited, I know as long as your people believe in you and work hard you can expect many more years of prosperity.
I’m mighty proud to be American, and of my heritage and Flag. I’ll stand up and salute you and fight to maintain your principles and freedom, even if it means fighting our own leaders when they go astray. Even then, in fact even more so then, I am proud to live in your lands, under red, white, and blue. Where eagles fly and remind me of our strength, freedom and resolve.
God, by any name we choose to call him/her, has blessed you, may he continue to do so forever.

Comment: Hat's Off, Hand over heart, The Flag is passing by!!!!! Oh, well said, Mike!!!!! I am sitting here teary eyed and chill bumps. We have made mistakes, of course, what nation hasn't? But ours is still, regardless of news media and TV propaganda, the very best!!!! And who else would let the people speak such untruths about each other as they vie for their candidate to be elected to office? May July 4th be celebrated as long as people live in these United States of America. My prayer is for more men with your principles, understanding and the willingness to fight for them.
